Feeling all better!

So as some of you may know Brynlee was in the hospital last weekend:(  We admitted her on Friday afternoon because she was running a fever (high was 103.2) and wouldn't smile.  When we got to the hospital they checked Brynlee for Meningitis by withdrawing fluid from the lower part of her back; it was called a Lumbar Puncture I think.  They also inserted a catheter in order to take a urine sample to test for a urinary tract infection which is what ended up being the problem. They gave her some antibiotics through an IV, unfortunately Brynlee managed to pull her IV out. The next time they placed her IV they had to try three different locations until they were finally able to get it in:(  It was hard to see her in so much pain and not be able to do anything about it.  Talk about torture!  They ended up keeping her there for two whole nights but through the last night her fever was gone so we were fortunately able to go home the next morning.  They diagnosed her with an E.Coli UTI.  50% of babies that get UTIs end up having reflux that cause it which meant they had to test her to see if she had the reflux.  The test they administered was called a VCUG which is where they inserted dye through a catheter.  This dye then traveled up to the bladder.  They then took an X-ray to see if the dye traveled from the bladder up to the kidneys if it did so that meant she had the reflux.  But fortunately she passed the test!!!!!
She has now been on her antibiotic for about a week and she is feeling great!! She is laughing a ton and constantly smiling which is such a relief!  This event makes me appreciate even more how healthy she is!
